Our Crew

Brandon Kidd –brandon@piratecovemarina.net
Brandon, Kristen and Meredith KiddThird generation owner and manager, the marina is in Brandon's DNA. He keeps on top of things with an ever-active Blackberry, answering questions and ensuring a smooth operation. He brings a lifetime of boating experience as well as business management expertise from Bryant University, and an unrivaled attention to detail. His philosophy is similar to Rudy Giuliani's ‘broken windows' theory, that if you pay attention to the little things, good things will happen and people will work to keep it up. He's looking toward the future and possibly adding new services that enhance the boating experience. He's already boosting the crew morale with team-building events at F1 Boston and trips to Block Island. He enjoys hanging out with his wife Kristen and new baby Meredith, closely following the Red Sox and Patriots. He's also excited about introducing Meredith to the water as his father did for him, tooling around the cove in their new boat.

Donald Kidd
Although semi-retired since 2006, Don still serves as Pirate Cove President and Consultant, ready to offer Brandon and his crew advice whenever needed. And since Don worked on the Marina since its inception in 1967, he has a lot of experience to offer! He helped build the breakwater, dredge the channel, drive the pilings and build the floats. Donald and Ann KiddWhen he took over running the marina in 1974, his ambition was to fill the yard and he succeeded, growing the winter storage customer base from 18 to today's 140. To make servicing all those boats easier, he bought new lift equipment, improved the yard and expanded the office. As an avid sailor, it's no surprise his favorite part of running the marina was being on the water, working with boats and teaching people to sail. That led to his opening a J-Boat dealership in 1979 which grew into the largest in the country, at one point selling an average of four boats a day. From 1984-87, Pirate Cove hosted the popular J-Boat Memorial Day Regatta, bringing in eighty visiting boats which would raft up in a row between B and C dock! These days Don enjoys running the marina's dock building business, playing on his new 39' Intrepid named Kidd's Stuff, and heading to Florida for five months of the year with his bride Ann.

Dave Holden –david@piratecovemarina.net
Dave HoldenService Manager since 1982, Dave keeps the yard running smoothly. Whether for scheduled maintenance or on-demand repairs, he's the key to keeping your boat in tip top condition, as well as the man to see about hauling and launching to make the most of your boating season. His longevity enhances institutional knowledge, boat history and continuity for customers. His favorite part of the job is having a small team to work with and a smaller customer base that allows for personal relationships to flourish. It's a level of trust you just won't find at other yards, and he's proud to be part of a crew that has maintained a personality as a family-owned business, focusing on each customer even while business has more than doubled. One thing he has noticed over the years is a faster pace of life that leaves less time for pleasure boating, so the time customers do have with their boats is even more important. A native of Wisconsin, he's fished in Alaska and lived in Hawaii where he met his wife Cyndi, finally finding his way to the East coast. When not at the marina, Dave enjoys kayaking, woodworking, cooking and the outdoors.

Kim Petrosso –kim@piratecovemarina.net
Kim has been Pirate Cove's Office Manager since 1998, as well as a "Jill-of-all-trades" pitching in at the fuel dock, the store...wherever needed. Her favorite parts of the job are working with a close-knit team and going to work each day on the waterfront. Kim and BrockPreviously, she worked as administrative assistant at Sarah Brayton Nursing Care Center, a great background to enable her to smoothly transition into her position here at the Marina. Owners of many boats, she and her husband have kept a boat at the Cove since 1992, where her husband was a live-aboard until Kim coaxed him ashore when they married. They now travel with their 24 Ft. Superboat Performance Boat up to Lake George to enjoy the fresh water scene and hang out with friends at a resort there. When not boating, they follow NASCAR, enjoy the outdoors, read and enjoy family and friends.

Joyce Rogers - joyce@piratecovemarina.net
Joyce and DaveThe Marina's Administrative Assistant since the spring of 2006, Joyce enjoys the versatility of her job, whether it's store inventory, helping out on the fuel dock or issuing contracts. She says Pirate Cove Marina is a wonderful environment and a fun group of people to work with, plus in a marina you're working with customers who are relaxing, enjoying themselves, and doing what they love, so everyone is in a good mood. After 21 years working indoors in production management at Matrix, Inc., she enjoys the chance to be outdoors a lot. Joyce and her husband Dave Aguiar have two sons and a daughter and enjoy traveling to Florida a few times a year. When she's not at the Marina, you can find her in the garden or relaxing with a good book.
